EKU Dual Credit - October 2018 Update

dual credit update

Congratulations, you have made it to mid-term!  Here are a few important things to remember as you finish out the last half of Fall 2018.  Please read this carefully as there is quite a lot of information included.

Go Colonels!

Mid-Term Grade Reports – Mid-term grades are available for you to view! Please check your EKU Direct account for your grades. If you have a question or concern about your grade, please contact your instructor.

1.      Log in to EKU Direct

2.      Select: Student Services and Financial Aid

3.      Select: Student Records

4.      Select: Midterm Grades

If you do not have a mid-term grade for a course, you should check with your instructor.

Withdrawals – Students concerned about their academic progress in a course should always consult their instructor and high school counselor before withdrawing.  The instructor may be able to advise the student on how to complete the course successfully.   Your high school counselor needs to make certain that students are still meeting their high school requirements for graduation.  The absolute last day to withdraw is November 11th, but we suggest taking action before November 9th in case you need assistance. Students withdrawing will receive a “W” on their transcript and, while this will not affect your GPA, it may impact your financial aid.

Tuition – We are still in the process of applying scholarships.  We hope to be finished within the next two weeks. At that point, we will email students to let them know that their accounts should be accurate. If there are late fees listed on your account, please disregard these until scholarships have been applied. Late fees and course fees will be removed!

Course Fees – Some student accounts may be showing course fees due.  Dual Credit students are not responsible for course fees. These fees will be removed once scholarships have been applied!

Digital Textbooks – Students are responsible for digital textbook charges.  Please check your account for these.

Fall Break – There will be no classes on EKU Campuses October 15th and 16th.  This does not mean that no assignments will be due on these dates.  Please check your course syllabus and Blackboard for assignment due dates.

Thanksgiving Break - Thanksgiving break will start on Wednesday, November 21st and classes will resume on Monday, November 26th. This does not mean that no assignments will be due on these dates.  Please check your course syllabus and Blackboard for assignment due dates.

Seniors – Freshman Scholarships!  -  Scholarships for graduating seniors are awarded on a “first-come-first-served” basis to students who apply to EKU as college freshmen their senior year, meet the stated criteria and accept their scholarship.  No additional scholarship application is required.  Students will receive the highest scholarship for which they are qualified. Please check out EKU’s Scholarship Estimator at:  Seniors should apply to EKU prior to February 1, 2019 to be considered for a scholarship.  Apply online to EKU by visiting the Admissions website

Spring Dual Credit Application DeadlineStudents currently taking courses do not need to apply for the spring semester.  If you know of someone not currently participating in EKU Dual Credit, applications for Spring 2019 are due on November 1. Tuition acknowledgement forms, transcripts and ACT scores should accompany new applications.  The application is available online at under the "How To Apply" link.  All high school juniors will need to reapply for Fall 2019 at the end of the school year (more information to follow at a later date).

ACT – Students wishing to take the National ACT to raise their scores in order to qualify for a dual credit scholarship should register through the ACT website (  The dates for the last ACT and R-ACT (national and residual) are listed below.  Remember, Residual ACT test scores will reside at EKU; they cannot be sent to other schools.
