EKU Dual Credit - January 2019 Update
EKU Dual Credit Student Update!
Welcome to EKU for the Spring 2019 semester! Here are some important items to get you off to a good start!
Classes Begin – January 14, 2018!
Snow Days – If your high school has a snow day, this does not mean that EKU is necessarily closed and definitely does not impact online class due dates and times. If EKU has cancelled classes, they will post the cancellation or delay on the website at www.eku.edu. Please review the weather plans at http://www.eku.edu/weather.
Textbooks – The easiest way to order textbooks is through EKU Direct under Student Services and Financial Aid, then click on Registration, then click on Order Your Books Online. MUH 171 and CMS 100 have digital texts available to students immediately through Blackboard. These texts are charged to you and your invoice is located in EKU Direct. Hard copies of these texts will not replace the digital texts. EKU Barnes and Noble Bookstore price matches!
First Day Attendance Policy - First day of class – ATTENDANCE REQUIRED! If you do not attend the first day of class, the instructor can drop you from the class for non-attendance. This policy also applies to online classes. Students who know they will be absent should contact their instructor or the academic department office PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS to explain their absence and request that the instructor NOT drop them from the class.
Spring Tuition and Text Invoices – All students who have registered and enrolled will likely have a tuition bill in their EKU Direct Account. We expect both KY State Dual Credit scholarships (KHEAA) and EKU Dual Credit scholarships for Spring 2019 to be assigned by mid-February to early March. We will keep students posted on this matter and will let everyone know when all scholarships are applied to students’ accounts. Students should then review their accounts for accuracy.
If you do not expect to receive a scholarship to pay for your course, or if you have a digital text invoice that needs to be paid, you can do so through your EKU Direct account or by following the instructions on the bottom of the Student Accounting web page. CMS 100 and MUH 171 are courses that we know have digital texts, but there could be others. Please check your account.
You may occasionally see that you have been charged a late payment fee or special usage fee. Late payment fees and the special usage fees do not apply to Dual Credit students and will be adjusted periodically in your account.
Incoming Freshman Scholarships! - Scholarships for graduating seniors are awarded on a “first-come-first-serve” basis to students who apply to EKU as college freshmen their senior year, meet the stated criteria, and accept their scholarship. No additional scholarship application is required. Students will receive the highest scholarship for which they are qualified. Please check out EKU’s Scholarship Estimator at: http://scholarships.eku.edu/. Students should apply to EKU prior to February 1, 2019 to be considered for a scholarship. Apply online to EKU by visiting the Admissions website http://admissions.eku.edu/.
Earn Up To $2,400 For College!
Students who earn dual credit through EKU can virtually double their investment, earning up to $2,400 additional scholarship dollars* for getting good grades and bringing those credits to EKU. Students taking Advance Placement (AP) can also earn dollars* for their test-score earned credits.
